ASMEX AND BANK OF AFRICA SUPPORT EXPORTERS 18 December 2019
On Wednesday 18 December 2019, the Moroccan Association of Exporters (ASMEX) and
BANK OF AFRICA are organising a panel discussion on the topic:
BLOCKCHAIN: OPPORTUNITIES OR THREATS FOR DOMESTIC FOREIGN TRADE ?
Indeed, technological development is revolutionising logistics and international trade in general because of its potential contribution to transparency and security.
As such, the technology of shared or distributed networks, called Blockchain, is of major interest to Moroccan exporters and their partners.
This event therefore aims to support Moroccan exporters in their international development and to enlighten them on the opportunities and risks of this type of platforms while anticipating the new changes imposed by the blockchain as a new mode of transactions.
In this sense, Mr. Hassan Sentissi El Idrissi, President of ASMEX, declared: "Our association’s mission is to make Moroccan exporters as well as the entire national foreign trade ecosystem aware of the new trends and latest innovations that are likely to have a direct impact on their activity. It is in this capacity that we are organising this meeting with BANK OF AFRICA today".
For the occasion, national and international experts met in the presence of leading institutions and economic operators to discuss the topic. As Mr. Aziz Mantrach, Vice-President of ASMEX, President of the Logistics Commission and President of the Moroccan Association of Shipping Agents (APRAM) also emphasised: "The objective is to anticipate the new changes imposed by this transformation, to respond to the concerns of the private sector and the public authorities in order to have a real roadmap for the years to come".
BANK OF AFRICA became a reference bank in foreign trade and a pioneer in dematerialisation as it was the first bank to offer the payment of customs duties by dematerialising the receipt and the liquidation sheet. Today, through its digital platforms, it offers the processing of all foreign trade operations as well as various high-performance solutions to its customers through multi-channel processes and high value-added services aimed at optimising the customer’s experience. Mr. Brahim Benjelloun Touimi, Executive Managing Director of BANK OF AFRICA highlights this approach: "We must invest in ‘‘Remote Services’’, everything related to IT, Robotics, Big Data. It is necessary to develop the incubation of technological companies so they can work on the digitalisation of the various sectors of the Moroccan economy but also, I would say, of the African economy".
