BANK OF AFRICA BMCE Group has been awarded for its leadership and commitment to Social Responsibility and Sustainability, including its resilience in the face of the Covid-19 crisis, during the 13th cycle of the Arabia CSR Awards, for the 7th consecutive year, in the Financial Services Sector category of the MENA region.
This regional platform, which awards organizations and company leaders across 13 categories in favor of sustainability and CSR, has received 1219 applications representing 43 sectors from 14 countries of the region since its creation in 2008.
These awards were presented at a semi-virtual gala ceremony held in Dubai on October 6th, during which Mr. Brahim Benjelloun-Touimi, Managing Director General, made a short statement by videoconference from Casablanca.
The Arabia CSR Awards are a benchmark of excellence in sustainable and positive change programs that make a tangible difference to the community and the environment. The credibility of this network, which has become a reference, has earned it the trust and recognition of global and regional organizations such as the United Nations Global Compact, UNEP and the League of Arab States.
The performances highlighted by this Prize are linked to the areas of Environment and Human Resources, while welcoming the actions in areas related to the Community Commitments, the Promotion of Social and Economic Development, the societal impacts of the bank’s products and services and business behavior.
The recognition is a testament and confirms the Bank’s efforts in implementing the CSR Charter commitments at the level of BANK OF AFRICA - BMCE Group and the overall vision, its mission and the set of values that reflect the sustainable development strategy. This award pays tribute to the leadership of BANK OF AFRICA, driven by the vision of its President Othman Benjelloun, which integrates the challenges of Sustainable Development as a lever of performance and sustainability and contributes to the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals.
